    Traveling north on US 71:

Option 2: The traffic is usually fairly heavy on State Route 36 between US 71 and Mt. Vernon so another route can be taken avoiding travel on 36 until arriving at Mt. Vernon. Instead of exiting US 71 onto 36 continue north to State Route 61. Exit there and turn left toward Galion. Go a couple miles to State Route 229 and turn right (east) toward Mt. Vernon. Stay on 229 until you run into 36 at the west end of Mt. Vernon. Turn left on 36 (eastbound) and stay on it through and out of town. Shortcut option from Mansfield:

Instead of taking 13 into Mt. Vernon and then back out 36 you can take a county road shortcut which saves about 10 minutes and avoids going through Mt. Vernon. To take this shortcut get off of 13 southbound at the Fredericktown exit and turn left onto State Route 95 east. Route 95 goes left at the stoplight in Fredericktown but continue straight, down the hill and to your right, over the railroad tracks and then turn left on Montgomery Road. Stay on Montgomery until it dead ends into Old Mansfield Road. Turn right and then take the first left onto L. Fred-Amity Road. Travel on L. Fred-Amity to the stop sign at State Route 3. Go straight across Route 3 and take the second right, Monroe Mills Road. Go about a mile and turn left on Floralwood Drive. Go to the first intersection and turn right on Apple Valley Drive. The entrance to the course is just ahead on your right. Click here to go to our Map page and see this route in map form.
